TPP Regional Activation Summit slated for April 16 in Tacoma

TPP-summit-16Apr16TACOMA — The Washington Fair Trade Coalition is hosting a Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Regional Activation Summit on Saturday, April 16 at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 901 N. J St. in Tacoma. Whether you’re worried about the TPP and not sure how to take action, or if you’ve been organizing for fair trade since 1999, this summit is for all and will help build a statewide network to defeat the TPP.

People representing groups from all over Washington state, and possibly Oregon, will gather for a daylong training to share experiences, build up their action toolkits, and strengthen connections in the region. The workshops and tracks will include how to talk about TPP, how to use visuals in activism, how to work with media, strategic escalation, and time for groups to exchange ideas and experiences, and plan for local action.

Plan to arrive Saturday, April 16 at 9:30 a.m., with the programs starting at 10 a.m., and wrap-up scheduled for 6 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are included.
