ELECTION

Fill out, return your primary election ballot

Check out local labor endorsements for the 2023 primary election

UPDATE (July 31, 2023) — Tuesday, Aug. 1 is the deadline to mail or drop off your primary election ballots throughout Washington state. Make sure you vote in this primary election!

(July 14, 2023) — Primary election ballots for the 2023 election are being mailed out this week and union voters are being urged to fill them out and return them right away. Voter turnout in odd-numbered year elections, particularly in primary elections, is often light so union voters can make a big impact on these critical local races.

The 2023 election is mostly for county and city offices. Several of Washington state’s regional AFL-CIO Central Labor Councils have made recommendations for union members’ consideration. These CLCs have reviewed questionnaires, interviewed candidates, studied voting records, and voted upon which candidates — and ballot measures — have earned labor’s endorsement.

AFL-CIO Central Labor Council endorsements:

MLK Labor (King County)
Pierce County Central Labor Council
Snohomish & Island County Labor Council
Spokane Regional Labor Council
Thurston Lewis Mason Counties Labor Council

If your CLC isn’t listed here, contact your local Central Labor Council to see if they have any 2023 primary election recommendations. Some CLCs may not make endorsements until after the primary election.
