Celebrate TAM Workers United victory on Mar. 21

TACOMA (Feb. 23, 2024) — The staff at Tacoma Art Museum conducted a year-long campaign that brought workers from multiple departments together, the first museum workers union in Washington to do so. And on Nov. 16, 2023, they finally won their union with AFSCME Council 28/WFSE.

All union members and supporters are invited to join them as they celebrate their historic union win, and the community’s crucial role in making it happen, at the TAM Workers United Victory Party at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 at the museum, 1701 Pacific Ave. Please RSVP here.

They’ll be giving out TAMWU shirts and swag, plus discounts from local businesses who stood by them throughout the campaign. They will also be presenting an art installation displaying the TAMWU shirts these new union members wore throughout the campaign, which is part of TAM’s new Soft Power exhibit.

This win comes with gratitude for the overwhelming support of Pierce County labor organizers, political advocates, community groups, artists, and more.
