The Washington Labor and Education Research Center is offering a slate of power-building courses for working people

SEATTLE, WA (October 1, 2024) — The Washington Labor and Education Research Center’s public fall courses begin next week on October 8, offering a slate of classes designed to empower working people with the skills we need to grow our movement and build worker power.

Course topics include “Mobilizing Members and Coworkers for Action,” “Building Stronger Unions in our Workplaces,” “Inoculation Against Anti-Union Propaganda,” and more. All courses except ‘Mobilizing Members’ on October 8 will be offered in person at the Georgetown Campus and over zoom from 6pm to 8pm. In-person attendance is recommended if Georgetown is accessible to you.

Classes will be team facilitated by a Labor Educator from the Labor Center and a guest co-facilitator from the community. Interpretation is available with advance registration, and the registration fee is $10 per class; no one turned away for lack of funds.

More information about the courses, including registration link and course descriptions can be found on the Labor Center’s website. Registration is also available by calling 206-934-6671 Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm to register over the phone.
