STATE GOVERNMENT
Piling on the pressure for progressive revenue
Rallies to be held in Bellevue, Everett, Spokane, and on the Peninsula
BELLEVUE, WA (April 11, 2025) — Union members and working families are rallying throughout the weekend and into Monday, calling on the Legislature to fund essential services through taxes on corporations and the ultrawealthy.
With sine die in sight, Legislators are deciding right now whether to tax big business and the rich, or to balance the budget on the backs of working people, cutting essential services and furloughing dedicated public servants. While corporations make a lot of noise in Olympia, Washingtonians support policies that require the wealthy to pay their fair share, just like working families do.
Working people are taking that message to the streets this weekend, calling for bold action to ensure education, healthcare, and child care services that Washingtonians rely on don’t face draconian cuts.
