200 attend Social Security forum urging ‘scrap the cap’ (video)

DES MOINES — “The Threat to Social Security: An Issue for All Generations” was a packed forum held April 12 at Highline Community College to promote “scrapping the cap” on earnings taxed for Social Security. People who make more $106,800 per year pay no Social Security taxes on that additional income. If they did, it would increase and strengthen Social Security benefits by trillions of dollars.

More than 200 at the forum heard from U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, Pramila Jayapal, Marilyn Watkins and Magdeleno Rose-Avila. Here is video coverage of the event.
