King County Prop 1 supporters rally for transit, roads (video)

yes-on-kc-prop-1SEATTLE (April 10, 2014) — Members of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 587 and other supporters of public transit in King County turned out for a rally April 2 in support of Proposition 1, an emergency tax measure to avoid an anticipated 17 percent cut in Metro services and to finance desperately needed road improvements across the county.

Prop 1 would restore a stable funding source for roads and transit by raising vehicle car-tab fees by $40 ($20 for low-income car owners after a $20 rebate) and the sales tax by 0.1% (10 cents on a $100 purchase).
